SIS: Working together since 1986

SIS is a major force in the UK and Irish betting industry, delivering its specialist TV channels to around 10,000 subscriber bettings shops.

The 2DB team played a key role in the evolution of SIS and its products since its inception in 1986, a role that continues to this day. We supplied most of SIS’s central site data systems, including input and storage of live data, automated live TV caption generation, teletext support, ‘raw data’ feed distribution and ‘Central Edit’ (a means of including data from third parties into subscriber feeds).

We also designed Sistext, the first multi-screen info-display system and implemented its software. SisText still runs in many betting shops today.

In 1993 the 2DB founders were instrumental in the design and implementation of NexSIS, the first commercial multi-screen info-display system outside North America to support hi-res digital images on conventional TVs.

More recently, we created a revolutionary new HTML-based screen system, which evolved into GENUS™. Midway through this development we provided SIS with a licence to the software that allowed them, with our help, to generate a product specifically aimed at small to medium bookmakers. The resulting iSIS, is considered the most advanced screen system for bookmakers who don’t operate their own central studios. Both SIS and 2DB continue to enhance iSIS which has a rapidly growing market share.
